The Friendship Revolution
(THIS PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION - THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE)
The year was 2018.
The startling statistics about those struggling with
depression, isolation, and loneliness continued to skyrocket. People felt overwhelmingly busy.
People I believed to be extremely involved in social groups confided that they struggled to make and keep close relationships.
What seemed to come easy for some of us 'people persons' (making friends, practicing hospitality, engaging in heartfelt conversations, etc), was extremely stressful for them. They wanted to establish and maintain deep and meaningful relationships but they didn't know how, struggled with insecurity, felt too busy, were still wounded by other friendships in the past, etc, etc.
I, too, have struggled with loneliness, depression, deep pain of betrayals, hypocrisy, and personal attacks. I too have struggled with tremendous insecurity, issues of identity, and wondering who I could really trust with the highs and lows of life.
But I'm willing to lean, forgive, shift my mindset, accept myself as God created me, and address issues of insecurity. There is no finish line when it comes to relationships. Culture changes, people change, we go through seasons of devastation and loss such as the entire year of 2020. We grieve losses, are broken, and sometimes just have to start over.
At the end of the day, the highest priority is love - learning to love, grow, pursue health (spiritually, emotionally, physically) and 'fill our cups' so we can then love, empower, and encourage those around us and 'help fill their cups'.
It's all about love and following God's perfect example of love. It's both easier and harder than we think.
Because I love people, all kinds of people, and love connecting people from all walks of life, I decided to empower others with the relational tools I had learned about and were using.
In the Spring of 2018, The Friendship Revolution, LLC was born.
Shortly thereafter, the Party of 8 box was developed. This was a quarterly box subscription offering members a variety of online trainings and a quarterly box with hospitality goodies to empower members to grow their own 'tribes'. I ran some beta groups, planned all the pieces and promos and was set to launch the second week of March 2020, the week the world shut down to 'flatten the curve'. This subscription has been placed on the back burner.
During 2020, people began seeking other people. The free community FaceBook group grew to 1,100 members and has continued to grow. The world slowed down and mental health discussions began to be normalized. Thank goodness. We all experience seasons of darkness, loss, confusion, etc. It doesn't mean we're weak - it means we're human. During that time, we also started a
YouTube Channel which was also placed on the back burner... temporarily. Feel free to check it out and let us know what content you'd be interested in seeing in the future.
Addressing heart-level concerns such as depression, forgiveness, and toxicity within relationships resonated within the community and The Friendship Revolution was nominated for and featured on Madeline Carter's morning news segment,
'NBC Right Now' the Summer of 2021.
Although the Insta and FaceBook Group and Pages have been recently confiscated by a hacker, I'll still continue to post and engage with my new account until I'm no longer allowed or have come up with better solutions.
Feel free to join me in the
Free FB Group for ongoing discussions.
